Intelligent
Receipt Automation

An intelligent receipt automation mobile app that helps freelancers, contractors, and small businesses capture, classify, and organize expenses seamlessly — from inbox to export — with minimal manual effort.

Objective

The goal was to design the entire product, application and brand experience that instills trust while simplifying receipt management. I designed the entire application (UX, UI, Interactive Prototypes, Design System, Design Specifications) along with distinct brand identity — to communicate Terrapin’s core values of reliability, intelligence, and simplicity.

Design Process

The project went through a customized design process with four key stages: Discovery, Synthesize, Reframe, and Design. From interviewing stakeholder and end-users to uncover pain points in receipt tracking. Mapping various input sources like email, photos, and banks. Insights were synthesized to define personas and core user journeys, while emphasizing reduced cognitive load and establishing brand attributes. The Reframe stage started with simplified progressive onboarding and set the brand tone. Finally, the Design stage produced a cohesive brand identity along with clear defined design system for receipts, tags and projects etc, with export-ready reports validated through interactive Figma prototypes.

Key Outcomes

Reduced onboarding friction by moving from “all at once” setup to progressive enablement, lowering the risk of user drop-off.

Value-first experience ensured users immediately saw receipts being scanned, creating a sense of progress and trust.

Professional-grade reporting with dashboards, strengthening the app’s for both a freelancer and accountant-friendly solution.

Future scalability through modular and componentized design of Projects, Tags, and Rules, allowing Terrapin to grow with user needs.

UX/UI for HeartBox, India, 2025

HeartBox is a social platform designed to bring people closer through meaningful interactions. HeartBox emphasizes safe spaces for individuals, family and friends, and time capsules that preserve memories for the future. The design prioritizes emotional connection, control over shared spaces, and long-term value rather than quick reactions.

Objective

The goal of HeartBox was to create a platform that prioritizes meaningful human emotions over fleeting interactions. Instead of focusing on follower counts, HeartBox gives users full control over their spaces. At its core, the app is designed to encourage deeper interactions, provide safe and intentional sharing, and preserve memories through time capsules that unlock in the future — making social engagement more reflective, personal, and lasting.

Design Process

DISCOVERY

Began with stakeholder and exploratory research to understand emotional expression. Mapping journeys to highlight pain points and limited ways to revisit memories.

SYNTHESIZE

Insights from discovery stage facilitated ideas and explored emotional reflection for personal, family or friends. These concepts was visualized with wireframes and validated.

REFRAME

Through iterative feedback and A/B testing, it became clear HeartBox should highlight emotional safety & user control. Studies showed the importance of a structured hierarchy of spaces.

DESIGN

In the final Design stage, interactive prototypes with a complete design system with specification was created. With colors, typography, and intuitive iconography for consistency.

We designed a centralized web application for customs booking and declaration, replacing the fragmented experience of logging into multiple country-specific systems. By unifying processes and embedding smart guidance, the solution saved users significant time while reducing confusion in filing complex declarations.

Challenges

Complex Forms Declarations varied by route, goods type, vehicle, and trade direction, demanding constant SME input.

Fragmented Knowledge No single source explained the full process, requiring extensive stakeholder workshops and visual mapping.

Data & Compliance Multiple countries’ legacy systems, laws, and standards had to be integrated without breaking compliance.

Solutions

Single Unified App One entry point for booking and customs, eliminating multiple systems & logins.

Smart Interfaces Built-in intelligence revealed only relevant fields, reducing cognitive load.

To design a unified platform for managing UAV fleets, payloads, sensors, flights, data and compliance — enabling logistics teams, UAV pilots, and regulators to operate seamlessly, with real-time visibility, efficient workflows.

Challenges

Complex Ecosystem Multiple modules (fleet, payloads, flight data, compliance) needed to work together as one cohesive system.

User Diversity Stakeholders ranged from UAV pilots to analysts, compliance officers, and fleet managers — each with different goals and workflows.

High Risk Domain UAV operations are regulated, compliance-heavy, and safety-critical. Interfaces had to prevent errors while keeping workflows efficient.

Fragmented Data Flight data, maintenance logs, and compliance checks existed across multiple systems, creating a disconnected experience.

Solutions

A central dashboard gave fleet managers a single view of UAV health, flights, and compliance.

Context-aware forms simplified complex tasks like flight planning, compliance filing, and pre-flight checks.
